Kuwa to Hon (鍬と本) was once the home of the island’s postmaster. Today it is a private house we rent to just one group a day.
What is an ordinary view for the islanders becomes something a little special for travelers: the quiet harbor after the last ferry leaves, the sunset from the balcony, the empty lanes in the morning.

The west-facing balcony provides a panoramic view of the sea, allowing you to enjoy breathtaking sunsets over the Seto Inland Sea. In the courtyard, featuring a wooden deck, you can also enjoy a barbecue.

1–2 guests: 55,000 JPY per night, including the owner’s dinner course for each guest

Add-ons: a platter of local sashimi (funamori, for 2–3 people) 8,800 JPY / Kagawa-style roast chicken leg (honetsukidori) 1,980 JPY

The whole house is yours, for up to 10 guests: family trips across generations, travels with friends, celebrations, and university or company retreats.

Three bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room. Futons are provided for 7 or more guests.
Dinner together
The owner’s dinner course, served at one large table (the same menu for everyone). You can add a platter of local sashimi.
e.g. Take course × 6 guests + 2 sashimi platters = 50,600 JPY (about 8,400 JPY per person)
Barbecue in the courtyard

Locations
Access
Ogijima is a small island in the heart of the Seto Inland Sea, home to about 120 residents. In 2014, the island’s elementary and junior high school reopened, and now more than 30% of the population consists of newcomers. With little flat land, houses are built in a stair-like fashion along the slopes, creating a maze-like landscape of stone steps, winding alleys, and cobblestone paths. Surrounded by the blue sea and rich nature, Ogijima offers a serene and immersive experience.
To reach Ogijima, take a ferry from Takamatsu Port (approx. 40 minutes). Kuwa to Hon is just a 2-minute walk from Ogi Port.
